From design concept, to draping, pattern-drafting, to finished garment

Custom white cotton mini dress, with plunging neckline and open back

This dress design was conceptualized because a client could not find (in stores) what she envisioned for an event she was attending in tropical Mexico. She wanted a white cotton mini dress with a plunging neckline and low back. I started the simple silhouette of the design by draping with muslin on a dress form, and then creating a pattern from the muslin that was fit to the client. After transferring the design to the final fabric, another fitting was done to ensure proper fit, as the different fabric will have variation in the way it fits the body.
